Senior Software Engineer | AI / FinTech | NYC

I’m working with an early-stage AI startup building software that helps banks and wealth managers deliver personalised financial guidance to more people.

They’re looking for a strong backend-focused engineer who can own application development and build features end to end, working across the stack when needed.

You’ll work on core product features, internal applications and public APIs, alongside distributed backend systems, data pipelines and agentic AI workflows.

They’re looking for

• Strong Python, backend architecture and relational database experience
• Experience taking applications and features into production
• Enough React/TypeScript experience to deliver across the stack
• Confidence using modern AI development tools
• A self-motivated engineer who questions assumptions and takes ownership

Applied AI, agentic systems or data engineering experience would be a big plus. Startup experience is ideal, though experience within a small autonomous team at a larger company could also fit.

$194–235k base + equity | 4 days/week in the office
