Project Accountant

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day project accounting activities for commercial construction projects.
• Prepare and process owner billings, including monthly progress billings and supporting documentation.
• Review and process subcontractor billings, ensuring accuracy and compliance with contracts and project requirements.
• Reconcile project costs, commitments, billings, and related accounts.
• Monitor project financial activity and identify discrepancies or issues requiring attention.
• Work closely with Project Managers and other operational personnel to ensure accurate and timely financial information.
• Utilize Sage 300 for accounting, financial reporting, and project-related accounting functions.
• Utilize Procore to access, review, and maintain project financial and billing information.
• Assist with project setup, cost coding, job cost tracking, and project closeout.
• Review contracts, purchase orders, subcontracts, change orders, and other project documentation as needed.
• Support the Corporate Controller with project financial reporting and analysis.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities related to construction projects.
• Reconcile project-related accounts and investigate variances.
• Maintain accurate and organized accounting records and documentation.
• Coordinate with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and other members of the Finance & Accounting Department.
• Help ensure compliance with company accounting policies, project requirements, and applicable construction accounting practices.
• Identify opportunities to improve project accounting processes, reporting, and controls.
• Perform other accounting and project-related duties as assigned.

Pay: $90,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
